Hello everyone,

I am new to raising meat chicks and have 22 large and healthy 5wk old red ranger chickens in my brooder pen. My kids and I made them a wonderful chicken tractor that's sitting outside waiting for them but my dilemma is the weather again. At what temp is to low for them to be outside safely? I don't want to put in all the work so far only to make the mistake of putting them outside to soon and freeze them. Thanks for any direction and advise you may have. Have a great day.

Depends on how cold your corner of the world is. I've had Cornish X in a tractor since 3 weeks old. When they were 5 weeks old we had some night lows in the upper 30's and 40's, they've all done perfectly fine.

We are in west central wisconsin and the lows have been in the 30s but now I see the lows are going to be mid 30s to mid 40s for the next week. Thanks for the help.
