I have chicks that are just 10 days old...so if I am reading right..at about 3 weeks (as I turn down the heat light gradually)...I could put them in the coop with a light? It is still quite cold here at night...25-30F at night..50 in the day...as long as the coop is warm enough...will they be ok out there? I have sand on the floor of the coop...soon I will have 3 young laying hens..about 11 months old...how will they all get along..will the older ones mother the little ones? Any and all feedback is greatly welcome...I love you guys!

I'm in Atlanta and mine when outside to their grow out coop last weekend. There are six of them that are 7 weeks old and I put plenty of straw to bed in but they also have roosts and a 250 w heat lamp. The coop is open to their run on one side so they are not fully closed in at night but fully out of any drafts and they are loving it.
