Ovation? What is this and what does it do?

What is Ovation? On this site I mean.

I look at my profile and it says 11 but when I click on it it says received 1 ovation.

What is this and what does it do?

Another poster gives an ovation when you post something that they feel is helpful or relevant. If you look on the lower right-hand side of a post, you'll see a little green "thumbs up" icon. Clicking on that is how you give an ovation.

Everyone starts with 10, not 0.

Sweet! I've clicked the little green thumbs up tab a few times. One of my posts got a load of 'ovations' but I have no idea which one it was. P

When you click on the "ovations" button on your profile, it lists them by which thread they were in, but if you mouse over one in the list, it shows the post.
