The hatch rate may of been low because of his size and he had trouble mounting the hen(s). You could AI your hens to get better hatch rates.

I don't know. Any eggs we pulled and checked had the fertile bulls eye in them. I am not looking into A I, I know it works just not something I can see doing. Not after the dirty jobs episode with the turkey.

My Red Rangers are a darker red. Between NH and RIR. I ordered 3 with my order from Dunlap Hatchery. I'm not really the butchering type so I got them to see their size and such. They are 12 weeks right now. I got lucky and got 2 pullets and a cockerel. The only thing that bothers me is their crop tends to hang a little ... I'm going to take them to our county fair and do a showcase on the breed. They'll be around 24 weeks then.
