I saw a thread earlier regarding a GLW roo, but was more interested about her Legbar(?) being sterile.

What I want to know is, what can you do with a horny GLW that is constantly having his way with all the hens?!

We have a flock of 22 hens and he is constantly trying to mate with all of them! He doesn't care if he's in! I saw him mount a Jubilee hen and there was white stuff on her tail feather that was not there before. In fact, our other rooster 🐓 was mounted and then the GLW roo came up, knocked him off and took over!

We have 22 hens and are down to 4-8 eggs on average.

Roosters just are. If you have one that is more aggressive than you like, the only thing you can do is separate him from the girls. Some people do bachelor pens, some do soup.

They can ruin the whole enjoyment of keeping chickens. Do not let him do that, move him on, one way or the other. You cannot just wish him nice. Sometimes people get a rooster unexpectedly, or they choose one, but roosters OFTEN TIMES do not turn out. They can feel guilty about it, but don't. It really is just the luck of the draw. Remember it is his behavior and fault.

They don't go "in", they don't have penises. Google 'cloacal kiss'.

Multiple males can bring out the worst behaviors in them all.
Get rid of one of the males and things may calm down.

How old are these birds, in months?
And.....
Where in this world are you located?
Climate, and time of year, is almost always a factor.
Please add your general geographical location to your profile.
It's easy to do, and then it's always there!
