It just has to be the fertility issues with the breed, cold and transport.
Such a shame

I'm thinking about what is best to do regarding the lockdown.....lockdown for the silkies is actually this coming Sunday... lockdown for Popcorn would be the Tuesday.

I could put either Popcorn or the silkies into my other incubator in lockdown, but I don't really want Popcorn to hatch all alone in one big incubator...

Would it be bad for Popcorn, if he went into Lockdown a few days early ?

(I'm not sure why I'm referring to Popcorn as he )

I wish I knew. I had a similar situation recently. Initially I set the eggs going into lockdown on the floor of the incubator and left the rest in the turners. After about 8 hours I got anxious and split the eggs into two incubators.

I have been wondering something similar. With my hatch the only ones who went into lock down and didnt hatch where 2 of the 4 who went in 20 hours later because they were freshly layed. It made me wonder if the elevated humidity killed them, although in fairness they were also upside down. I just don't know if they died because they were upside-down, or were upside-down because they died before they could turn.
