Over due peahen eggs, how can I tell if they are still alive?

We got 2 peahen eggs that seemed fully developed the last time we candled. . .they are on day 29, but no pips, nothing. What can I do without harming the egg to see if there is still something alive in there?

Thanks!

First double check your set date. Try tapping on the incubator and chirping at them. Then candle your eggs if it's actually past the 28th day and no response to the chirping. Good luck!

Hi Shelly,
I only know a little about chicken eggs. In my candling experience I would often see a little movement in there as they reacted to the light. Did you see any movement?
If everything seems to have been going smoothly with the sitting hen, or incubator then a few more days couldn't hurt maybe.
I'm sorry to hear that they're already overdue. My hope is that maybe you miscounted the days when you started the eggs. Also sorry to hear that they eggs aren't making any sounds. :fl Fingers crossed for you.

Double checked the dates. . .candled again and they looked totally formed, but there as no movement at all.

 Oh dear....
I suppose only time will tell. Once they are grossly overdue they would become rotten eggs, would they not? Are they under a peahen or in a bater? I say, no harm in letting them sit a little longer. There's really nothing you can do to encourage them to pip out.
I'm so sorry. Hoping they hatch for you!

There in an incubator, I'm still grasping for hope though because our turkeys were due the same day as them and we have one that is alive in the egg, looks like it wont hatch till tomorrow evening, so maybe the same with the peahen eggs.:fl

How sad... Did you buy these from a breeder? Were they shipped in the mail? Or were they from your own peahens?
Something could have happened to the eggs in transit if so, or maybe there was something else that went wrong during the incubation process.
