overalls, anyone know where to get them?

Is Carhartt a good brand? Or Dickies?

I don't think Carhartt even makes blue denim bib overalls, but if you want to look like you work on a real farm, order something else from there.

Dickies are a good brand, and I know they make bib overalls. I have a few pair of their jeans, and they're good, so I expect the overalls will be fine for you. Personally, I haven't worn bib overalls since I was about 5 years old, so I'll admit I'm merely guessing that their overalls are good if their jeans are.

Baldie,Thanks for thinking of me even though the size is off.

Eggs4Sale, I know we have salvation army drop off boxes nearby, so there may be a store. I'll have to check that out.

giasmom, that is the style that I am looking if I can find it in women's.

Yeah, I know that overalls are not a hot fashion trend right now for people over the age of 5, or for people who aren't 80's one-hit wonder pop stars, LOL.

But I know of alot of uniform companies that use Dickies and so I was wondering how they were comfort-wise........Does it feel like a uniform or are their clothes comfy?
Besides the chickens don't care how I look, just my husband and you should see how he looks!!!!

I don't think Libertys come in womens, not sure tho. I have some of the mens & I love them especially in the winter, they are super comfy after a few washings, mine are the stone washed ones.

I've seen many men around here wearing overalls. They LOOKED like they weren't uncomfortable. But I'm not familiar enough with any of them to ask how their overalls feel.

The Dickies jeans I have are quite comfy. Soft denim, a bit baggy in fit, nice hammer loop and screwdriver pocket down one leg. My favorites for working if I'm climbing ladders, crawling under things, they're not restrictive. My wife likes hers too ... had to get her to buy some Dickies and Carhartt jeans on line the other day, she couldn't find women's jeans anywhere that were made for "work." Said someting about having to get her backside tatoo'd if she was going to work in jeans from the mall ...

I expect the Dickies bibs will be functional as well as roomy and comfortable like the jeans are.

The Carhartt jeans I have might feel more like what you're saying a "uniform" feels like, since they're heavy-weight. They have bibs, though I don't think I've seen blue denim, just the heavy-duty canvas sort. Probably not what you're after, more for construction or ranch tasks.

You might be able to find either in your area if you have a "military surplus store", those often also stock these brands as well as their usual wares.

wombat, thanks for the great info. Hadn't thought of army/navy surplus but it's worth looking into. I know what you wife means about the jeans from the mall. My 15 year old daughter was working in the garden with us and (let me word this carefully because it is a family website) her full moon was sunburned by the end of the day.
