So, I noticed an overgrown beak in my senior rooster (dark brahma) a month ago, but I didn't research it- I thought it'd just wear down naturally. It's a centimeter long, and I'm kind of worried. So... do i need to supply sandpapaer etc? Or do i need to clip it?
Also, since he has feathers on his feet, they're molting and it looks sunburnt, painful, and fleshy. It was worse a week ago. Is there anything I can do?

Welcome to BYC!

Overgrown beaks can be caused by nutrition, genetics, disease (rare in chickens), and not enough rough surfaces to peck at. It can be clipped, but it must be done with extreme care, as clipping wrong can split or crack the beak and cause severe pain and bad bleeding.

As for the legs, molting is an uncomfortable time for birds. They are sometimes irritable and itchy. As the feathers grow back in he should feel better.

Best of luck!
