Been hearing and seeing this red shouldered hawk (?) around the property lately. I don’t think he’s quite 100% interested in the chickens, as it’s been out in the yard while they were free-ranging a few times. Fairly small hawk compared to a chicken but very cool looking! It’s let me get within 10ft a couple times and just chills out. I might have to feed it the squirrel that’s been tearing up my pears lately.
Regardless, I’m glad my setup is protected from overhead now, before then we had owls and bobcats go over the top and get dinner.
