I was eating lunch outside day before yesterday and I had to go in to answer the phone. I forgot about my lunch on the table. I went back outside some time later, the bowl that had the pasta salad in it was almost empty and I had a cherry slurpee that had turned over/knocked over in the bowl. There was no slurpee on the ground, then I saw the australorp with her beak stained red, and she is the only one that could fly up on the patio table. So she ate most of the pasta salad and that sweet slurpee as well. Her crop was huge. It was bedtime and when they got up the next morning her crop still looked full and I could tell she didn’t feel well. I checked her crop and it was soft and seemed normal. She laid around most of the day with her eyes closed. She seems some better today but not quite as active and not her chatty self. She is drinking water ok and hasn’t separated from the flock. I just happened to see her poo and it is yellow and liquid. Could that be from the carbs and sugary food she ate?
