I think it really depends on your ducks. More girls is always better. I HAD six Indian runner ducks and three drakes until I lost two hens over the winter. I have four baby girls to add to the mix -- but they are still too young to take the pressure off the older girls, who are getting more than enough attention. By fall, the new girls should be old enough to add to the flock and the boys' hormones should settle down. But it's going to be a long summer for Quinn, Sloane, Blair and Grace Kelly.
