Overrun with buff silkies in NC

No worries. I just seem to be up to my eyeballs in them at the moment.

Let me know when you're ready.

Your neighbors only approve???? What about Smithfield, are you allowed to have roos? Maybe I'm just rude but I don't care about neighbors. My roo is not as loud as their dogs.

Silkies don't make hardly any noise at all. You have to be pretty close to them to hear them crow.

I've been looking for some Silkies for a while, they'll be my first chickens since I was a little kid. I'm open to recommendation, since I'm new at this again, as to number and combination of gender, but I'd be especially interested in getting a few newly hatched chicks, if there are any of the "more on the way" for sale.

I live near Raleigh, so picking them up any day wouldn't be a problem, whatever time is convenient for you.
My email is cjcorbet at ncsu.edu

Thanks,
Cari

RCL - I mapquested the city of Hickory and it's about 2 1/2 hours from me. I am heading towards Winston Salem this weekend (Yadkinville). Just mention cause there may be a possibility of meeting perhaps?

Cari, I have nine babies all around or under a week old. I will gladly sell you some of those ($4). Just let me know. I started with four hens and a rooster.

I think three chicks will work great for us; start small, see where it goes. When would be a good time to pick them up? I'm available tomorrow afternoon/evening, or anytime this weekend, but whatever is convenient for you works for me.

Thanks again,
Cari
