Your dog crates gave me a idea

As a temp outside secure run you could put several of your dog crates end to end and just take off the ends on the middle ones and wire them together like a train and put chicken wire to keep chickens from sticking head through the crate sides. You could even take out the one of the plastic tray bottoms and they could get worms and bugs. If you wire it together well, I bet your could drag it to move it around. I'm going to try this as I have a few small dog crates and this would give my young chicks a few hours our of the brooder on nice days.

I don't believe we have a store like that here, but I will check. I've definitely considered the dog runs together. Even thought I could put a few in each one and just let them hang out separately, though periodically switch them around for socializing. I'm keeping my options open.

I don't think my dad would let me cut on the old door. The wheels are still turning, though, so I'm sure I'll think of something. I need some days off to start creating.
