OWL ATTACK! Need advice NOW please!

A lot of people live in a "dead zone", as do I, where there are no vets who are good at helping poultry. Avian vets are better at helping caged birds, when they can even truly help those. Here it's either the internet or driving several hours to a university, and even then you might not get the help you need. So maybe the OP is doing the best they can with what they have.

I do agree, however it can be costly visiting a vet. Most people here have dealt with emergencies. Its okay to ask, do you have a picture of the injury?

How about...figure out what to do BEFORE an emergency? I'm not saying "know how to splint a wing perfectly" but at least have looked up 'emergency poultry first aid' and have some supplies on hand as well as to know where to call for a farm vet who knows something about birds.

While there are some places in the USA that don't have a lot of vets, most have a few, and if one was to make contact BEFORE an emergency, the vet would be much more likely to be able to help.

Where we live the nearest vet that will even have a clue how to deal with a injured duck is about 3 hours away. Here the vets see them as poultry that we eat and nothing more

I have found great advice on this forum because well we all have ducks and have these problems happen more then once!

I hope your duck is doing better this morning. If not it could be more internal injury that you won't be able to see. I would keep her warm, add some sugar or electrolytes to the water. I hope it is just shock and she gets better soon!
