Owl mannequin for Hawk protection

I found it to be a worthless expense. The hawk didn't come back for 5 weeks..I moved the thing around religiously. The hawk took my favorite silkie literally right from under the owl's nose. It came back once again. I covered my run. Owl's aren't out in the daytime...I think the hawk was smarter than I.

Oh wow! Thank you for letting me know.

I just ordered a huge bird net that is 14 x 45. I am going to attach it to our privacy fence on one side and on the other we will put taller boards on the fence to attach it. That will cover most of the area that my birds free range in. The rest is thick in trees. Unless a hawk can climb down from a tree and get on the ground and then catch one of my chickens after they run from him, we should be pretty safe.
My girls also have some under the coop hiding areas.
I don't know if a hawk would go through all that trouble and then he couldn't find his way out of my yard probably with the bird netting up. lol.
I will shoot photo's after this is done.
