Hello everyone I have a problem and I heard that I will do not like to hunt when there’s a lot of noise so with that being said if I hang windchimes around my coupe will that bother my chickens as they roost at night

If the wind chimes are supposed to discourage an owl from getting ideas about your chickens, I fear you've been misinformed. Chimes will no more be disturbing to owls than to your chickens.

Owls can gain entrance to a coop or run by flying through very narrow slits by folding up their wings as they glide through. Better than wind chimes, see that all cracks around the eaves are properly screened with hardware cloth.

We use solar lights that are used to put on fences and buildings. The owls not sure whats going on except screech owls who hunt for small rodents etc. They like them. Get the ones that only come on when the light path is crossed.

A radio would be better because it sounds like people to the owls. They are protected so kill one and oh oh.

Good animal husbandry that keeps the smell down helps as well.

Good luck! Oh, it’s also breeding season for raptors so they will come. You just need to keep them at a distance. Lights have worked great for us. Not so great for other smaller creatures but it is what it is!

I’d think the chickens would get used to the windchimes.

What do you need windchimes for?
I read that owls don’t like noise while they hunt so if I have a couple of them hanging around maybe that will keep them away some of the times

Instead of blindly adopting a strategy of discouraging owls without knowing why it is supposed to work or understanding the behavior and physiology of owls to make your own determination of its effectiveness, read this and then decide if wind chimes might be something you'd want to depend on to protect your chickens. https://web.stanford.edu/group/stanfordbirds/text/essays/How_Owls_Hunt.html

I have a couple of open coops on one side. I had an owl killing my birds. I couldn't figure out how the predator was getting in until I put up a game camera and discovered it was an owl. I have since covered my pens with heavy duty netting. No more kills from owls.
