So I've been wondering...

If you ever have your ducks get lost or loose out of your property would they come back?

I'm curious how you can go with food/loyalty training.

What do you think about this?

Would they come back if separated?

IMO, To many variables involved to be able to answer your questions correctly.

I agree.

But just as a personal experience, my ducks will float down the creek in the winter/spring, they will be gone all day and will come back once its bedtime.

mine will actually put themselves to bed if we don’t do it fast enough lol, but they are human imprinted and wait at the door to be let in the house too so i’m not sure if most ducks will do it

Waiting at the door is pretty amazing! (And funny.)

I think a consistent routine is good for ducks. Same time out every morning, same time in. Since my ducks free range, they get pretty tuckered out by end of the afternoon.

Thanks.

So if I understand you right, it sounds like you are implying that the routine would increases the chances that they came back if separated from the owner or owner's property?

For me, yes. But I would make sure your neighbors don’t have an issue with them.
