I'll be moving to Upper Chichester Pennsylvania in a few weeks anyone know how/where to go to register for backyard chickens? I've been reading up on ordinances and it's all extremely vague. Does anyone know what I need to do to be able to acquire backyard chickens?

Contact the local Ag Extension Service. They'll walk you through everything you need to know before you start.

I'm moving from California. So where I currently live you have to get a permit from animal control. Where do I even find the ag extension office?

The Agricultural Extension Office is managed through Penn State University. They have a slew of different offices, so your best bet would be to contact Penn State Extension and have them to direct you to the right office for your area. Like most big offices, it's easy to get turned around in the beginning, but once you get to where you need to be, it's well worth the frustration! You may be able to get in more directly by looking up 4H. That's run through Ag Extension, too, so it might get you in more quickly, especially if you have children interested in the program. Good Luck! ...and Welcome to the East Coast!
