Oxine in Chicken Fountain

Has anyone used Oxine in their Chicken Fountain either to clean it or on a regular basis? I've noticed mine has a light brown ring of something on the inside.

I guess no response means no one has used it in their Chicken Fountain. When I contacted the maker they said yes but to drain it out but then I've read on here where people use 1/8 tsp of Oxine to 1 gallon of water in their waterers (not fountains) to keep them clean and it's okay for the chickens.
