Hi all. I have an unwell hen who I have separated from the the flock and started treating with oxymav b. I am unsure on what amount she needs to get. It says 5g to 50ml of water for 3-5 days and 50ml will treat two parrots. So my question is do I just give her the 50ml and when she’s finished that she’s treated and back to normal water or do I keep giving her 50ml a day for 3-5 days? I’m not sure how much she weighs, she’s a chunky leghorn hen. Help really appreciated!

That is a hard drug to dose for chickens, since it is for pigeons. I tried looking for dosage all over the place. The dosage on the box is for pigeons, and chickens may drink more water. Most meds need to be given by the pound or Kg of weight. If you can read the label and calculate 800 mg to put in a gallon of water for 7 days, that is the dosage for oxytetracycline.
