LittleGreyBantam - I just hatched out 4 of your eggs! Well, I didn't hatch them, my broody did! Then she decided she was done sittting on eggs and abandoned her nest. So I found cold eggs and I put them in my hatcher bator to see it they will hatch. Do far it doesn't look good. But I guess I should be happy I got 4! My other broody also abandoned her nest today, and I came home to 6 cold eggs. Half of those are my own from my flock, and the other 3 were the last remains of Frizzle Cochins (and when I candled it looked like one was no good - I opened it and the chick was fully formed, just the yoke sac was not absorbed). Not sure if I killed it or if it had quit, but I think it had quit, since they are due to hatch tomorrow. I'm not so sure about this shipped eggs thing either!!! I have a couple more batches still in the bator, we'll see how they do.
