Hi could someone please tell me about giving oyster shell grit to pheasants.

How much do they need, and how often etc.
Should it be seperate from food or mixed together.
Is it to aid in digestion.
And do peacocks need it aswell.

Cheers
Adriano

just put a bowl of free choice out and they will take what they need. its needed for egg proguction and stronger shells

Oyster shell, though it may have some properties like grit, is not for grinding, but for calcium. Grit is a different thing altogether, though many feedstore erroneously sell oyster shell as "oyster grit". I'm sure peacocks need grit, but if they have access to pebbles and gravel, they get it already. Oyster shell can be put in a small feeder for them to get when they need it.
