How do I feed my flock oyster shell? Just put it in with their feed that they eat now?

Most folks put in a feeder in the corner and they can have it "free choice"

I mix mine in with their layer feed.

Ok thanks but will they still eat it if I put it in a corner... since they won't recognize it as food?

I believe they will. Chickens are very curious creatures (that's why they are so fun to watch) and they know what their bodies need.

Okay.

I put mine in a large flat container and let them do what they will with it, they also like to dust in it, speaking of which I also give them a sand box filled with sand and mix in some oyster shell in that and sometimes a little DE as well, makes for happy healthy girls and roos

It can be fed any way you want.

Mix with feed-- that's what I do.

Scattered across the run like a treat once or twice a week.

Box in the corner.

Any way you want to do it, if they need it they will go to it.

My DH says if I keep it up he's going to go out and ask if he can join the girls on their couch, & watch t.v. with them, lol! I usually put the oyster shell (or egg shells) in a corner too in their own dish. BUT Walmart here I come!
