Pacific Northwest Poultry Association double show, Salem, OR Oct 13-14, 2012

Does anyone know if they will be selling carrying boxes there? I've been looking for some and have just been using a small cat carrier for my Frizzle, but I have more birds to show now so I have like, no way, to transport them unless I use a box.

Have you tried a local vet? Most have cardboard carriers with air holes and a solid bottom, I wouldn't use them for long trips though, it would get really hot in them and large fowl would be really cramped.

I only have Bantams, so I can fit both of the birds I'm taking in the carrier. But, is is cramped, and it is a 1 hour drive to and from the show. At least it's Oregon so hopefully it'll cool down for the show.

I am looking for a young Wellsumer or Maran to add to my flock of five. Our Wellsummer, Lelah, is very shy and though the other hens don't peck her or hurt her and she roosts with them at night without much fuss, the other hens have paired off leaving her the odd hen out and I am hoping to find her a gentle friend.

I live in Salem will be at the show but I can come pick of a hen sooner if anyone has one for sale.

BTW (and off topic) she was born around 4/1 and is not laying yet. I keep checking all the hiding places hoping she is a rogue layer but so far no eggs at all. Her vent is moist and looks like the other hens who all lay at least an egg a day. Any thoughts?

I hope the temp shock wont be too much for the birds I pick up while over there. We have been waking up to frozen hoses in the mornings when doing chores.

To add to my list, I will be looking for some nice light brown leghorns and also some araucanas. Not just tufted/rumpless but mainly tufted tailed, if anyone knows of any that will be there please let me know
