Pacing/Nervous Hen

Howdy yall.

TLR First;
Have a RIR that gets pacey/anxious at night and also tries to escape. What do I do?

So, last I posted the pullets were about to make their way to the coop. They finally made it and have been there for about a week now. I go out and visit them/check to make sure they understand how the roost works, give them treats, spend time talking, etc... Even gave them a couple of dimly lit red and green puck lights in coop while they acclimate to the dark.

I've noticed the last couple of days that one of my RIR's has gotten pacey/anxious as the sun goes down. During the day, she is fine; often scratching and bathing til she is content; but last night she tried climbing the run fence and caught herself about halfway up.. Actually had to unhook her talons and beak. Tonight she was pacing alone like "please don't make me go in there!" while the others were getting in their positions on the bars. I also noticed Tonight that all the girls were gathered in the corner of the run just staring out while standing over her. (They dispersed before I could take an accurate picture, but she is circled).

If I go in the coop to hold her and put her on the bars, she calms down, but not before jumping on my back or trying to escape to the "outside world." Sometimes she won't even roost with them, I'll find her on the water jug or feed container.

My other girls are fine, but she seems to be the hardest adjusting.

I theorize that when they were in the brooder, she was at the top of the pecking order, but the others are growing and she's not the biggest anymore, therefor not at the top, and it bothers her when it comes time to roost. Is my theory correct? Or she just being dramatic? Any advice?

About 3 months at this point. Comb is vibrant and biggest out of all pullets. Feathers aren't pulled out or overpreened. Attitude is fine up until night.

Just keep putting her on the roost until she gets used to the routine. I did that for a week or so when I first put mine out and once they worked out who got what positions-no more issues.
I would remove the lights. Dark and quiet in the coop is the quickest way to settle them in. If they're all roosting ok except for her seems like something spooked or upset her. I have 9 RIR hens and they're all really mellow and that's a pretty common trait for hens of this breed, they're not known to be flighty. Your theory may be correct as they do often like to be higher on the pecking order but I have a few that are pretty timid too.
If she just refuses to roost with the others after putting her where you want her for a week or two then in the end, if it were me, I'd let her sleep where she wants as long as it's not in the nest boxes (too messy).

The problem ironed itself out within a day. She just needed some cuddles and reassuring. All the girls now go in before dusk and have their own spots on the roost. I check on them occasionally, and they look at me like "CLOSE THE DOOR!"

I appreciate the advice. They've been without the dimmers for 3 nights now.
