I am getting quail so I can offer their eggs as an alternative to my chicken eggs. I dont think they will sell for much in my area so I am trying to think outside the box to lower packaging costs. Has anyone used confection boxes (ie: truffle or petitefours) to package Coturnix eggs? I have no idea what dimensions would work well. The quail cartons seem to run around 30 -75 cents each which will cut heavily into my profit!
. I am in SD and we also have to use new containers when selling under a state seller's license. I was thinking of buying boxes in bulk from a bakery/confectionary supply store. I don't know what dimensions I would need so I haven't been able to really price them out. I have no idea what size a typical quail egg measures, in inches, to guestimate what size box would hold a dozen, etc.
