Paddling after laying

After laying my three girls stand in the duck pond for a few minutes - this happens regardless of temperature or weather. They're not brooding the eggs just laying and leaving them; they don't drink the water nor bathe in it. They'll go in as far as the knee joint and don't get their plumage wet.
Is this normal behaviour? It only happens after laying and the rest of time they devote to trying to find a weak link in the vegetable garden fence.

My girls do it, too, all the time. I wouldn't worry about it. I think they might just be relaxing after all of that hard work. Twice this summer, though, one of my girls managed to lay an egg in the watering bucket...

I think its' kind of cute. My tom can't figure out how to get into the watering tub, though... he just kicks at the sides.
