Pagans and non-believers.. and any other beliefs!

We all know that I'm kind of out there. From a very young age I didn't fit in with my families way of doing things. I used to skip Church and Sunday School, going to the park instead and using my offering money and a friends to buy some smokes, lol. But I know the Bible up close and personally. Got smacked with it enough times! Many a punishment was to memorize certain passages so that I would "know better" next time not to do what I did. My Mom is still a card carrying bell ringer of the Salvation Army!

I have walked many different paths along the way to get me to where I am now not just comfortable, but throughly at peace with my spiritual self. I have walked the dark roads of Black Magic, Satanism, and Demonology and seen things that nobody should see. I have studied the Koran, the Tora, the Dead Sea Scrolls, the Kabalah, the Bible, Hinduism, Sikhism and more isms than I can remember!! I have studied the Red Road under elders of the Crow and Odawa Nations and have been adopted into both.

When I was younger, I felt as if the abilities that I have were a curse and not a gift as I believe today. Many a time I have been punished for hearing and seeing things that no one else could. Called crazy because I would lapse into a state of semi-consiousness and speak in the 3rd person. After a while you learn not to listen to the voices, to turn your head from the visions before you, because it was not "normal"

I was 25 years old when first began walking the path I do now. I was working and living at a National Monument in Arizona, Montezuma's Castle. Just outside of Sedona and beautiful Oak Creek Canyon. These were the lands of "Those Who Came Before", "The Ancient Ones", "The People" It was here that the voices and visions began returning. Many a "Shame-On" teacher was ready to show me which was the right way to walk but I had grown enough to know that my heart would tell me what was true.

This time of year we celebrate the Solstice, Yule, Christmas, Hannukah, Kwanza, and others. We call it the "Celebration of Light" you will be surprized of how many of these traditions use light/candles in their celebrations.

I have no problems with those who walk other paths as long as you don't try to stuff your beliefs down my throat. I'm not recruiting your children to drink blood, to bite the heads off chickens or hang crosses upside down. Do unto others and all of that
An It Harm None, Do As Ye Will

with the exception of the part I've left quoted above, yes my experience of christianity fits that.

as a very wise man once said "I like your christ, but not your christians. Your christians are so very unlike your christ"

So, you believe that those characteristics DO fit Christians?

not if they are actually doing as their christ led. no.
If you read what I said, I said that it fit my experience of christianity.
I pass no comment nor make judgement on all christians by that.

Okay. I believe that some beople do that, but if they are doing that and not asking for Jesus' forgiveness, then they aren't real Christians.

Wow. I don't know how to jump in here. I was raised Catholic, but didn't go to church regularly. The nuns were so mean when I was little; I was afraid of them and couldn't understand how they could be considered 'good' when they acted so mean. One of the things that I know about Christianity is that it was used for control of large masses of people. I don't like that part of it. I also couldn't understand how little children in Africa that died from starvation that never knew about Jesus or Christianity would not be able to go to heaven. They had no way of knowing...

So, I am a Christian; I just don't pretend to know everything about Christianity.

I started thinking about it and realized that I don't really know what a Pagan or Hethen (sp?) is. Not exactly, anyway. I can read the definitions online, but I mean how does a Pagan or Hethen live their everyday life differently than a Christian?

I ask only because I'd really like to know. I don't want anybody to start judging or being ugly. I think most of the Pagans on this site are some of the most sincere and caring people I've come across, so please Christians; keep your minds and hearts open.

to ask forgiveness, first they'd have to see what they're doing as wrong.

That's true. I know.
