I don't believe she asked for a debate on christianity. I've been around BYC awhile now and I've noticed something. When christians have a thread going "for christians", the pagans leave it pretty much alone. Yet when someone starts a pagan thread (not saying Miz Red is pagan, just sayin') the christians can't seem to leave it alone. Why is that? Don't answer that. It was a rhetorical question.

Can we get back on topic, please? This really is an interesting thread.

Me myself, looking at Christ... not as a god, or rather demi-god, but just as a man... I think his message was to be peaceful, do unto others, help those who need it, and basically be decent to your own species... and I can respect that attitude... even if I can't understand why the man would want to form a cult that worships him... I can't imagine wanting that kind of attention on me... *shudder* but then I'm an uber clutz who has (no really) walked into doors, tripped over my own feet and COUNTLESS times bonked my head on the ventahood... nope would NOT want anyone, much less an entire world, looking to ME for grace under pressure.

Edit... Moxie I'ma pass that link on to DH... He's the one who actually knows what quantum theory IS... he might really enjoy that.

Jesus Christ wasn't Jim Jones or Barack Obama....Until and unless you can accept the premise of him being who he said he was, and doing what he did, for those same reasons, he's nothing more than a misquided hobo/ hippie.

My two cents. I am a generational witch. My mother and her mother practiced "witch-craft'. My father was Roman Catholic, and until I graduated the eighth grade was forced to observe the Catholic religion. Growing up, somehow my parents managed to celebrate both religions peacefully. Christmas and Yule (winter solstice) are always close together and being able to burn the log and eat solstice cake and then a few days later have presents. Wow! Being taught that the Christ child being born was for mankind to be brought from darkness to light and the solstice celebrating the return of light and rebirth, wonderment!
To me being Pagan/Wiccan or Christian is just on how you treat people. Treating others as you would have them treat you. Harm None.

Anyway, Dec 20/21st is the full moon,winter solstice and the last lunar eclipse. Hope everyone will be watching with me.
