Paint Inside The Coop?

I painted the walls,, floor and ceiling with kilz, bright white. I wanted to seal the wood from absorbing any moisture, and it makes the chicken house brighter inside.

Only bad thing is you can see whre the chickens have "sprayed" the wall. Maybe a nice shade of brown would have been better on the roost wall.

If you don't paint the inside, the wood will absorb EVERY odor that a chicken can emit.

You won't regret painting the interior. The poo simply washes away with soapy water. No power washing necessary. Glossy paint makes it even easier. It's important to prime first for better paint adhesion and temperature fluxuations.

I paint the inside and outside of the coop and runs every couple of years or as needed, it will be the best thing you can do to protect your chickens coops.

It's now entirely painted on the inside. Roof was Tyveked and shingled today.

I'll paint the outside. We are adding "trim" to any areas where ply wood
joins plywood and there may be risk of draft.
I'll save the insulation for the roof.
The run area was the wood pile area and has now been cleared to start erecting the run about 5+ft tall, 8 feet long framed and chicken wired.
We are buiding a double door entry - a screen door inside and a plywood door opening in the opposite manner outside.

Thanks for great ideas, resources, advice.
