Hi folks! My new coop is finished in untreated pine tongue and groove boards. It looks fabulous just as it is but I think the smart thing to do would be to treat/seal it for the purpose of mite deterrence. What offers the best mite deterrence; paint or hydrated lime wash? I think the paint would seal the wood better to prevent mites from hiding in the wood but the lime wash is known to be caustic to mites so I’m unsure of which treatment would be better. Would love your experienced opinions.
