Paint or not?

Is it a good idea to paint the inside of a coop & if so, what type of paint would I use? Thanks!

Use a good primmer and interior paint. Any color is good as long as it's white. At night with a flashlight you will appreciate white.

My first preference is free, the second preference is eggshell finish (easier wipe down)

Should the inside of nest boxes also be white or something darker?

I used a semi-gloss exterior primer+paint in white for the inside of our coop.

We went with Artesian Brown for the outside and inside plywood parts and the framing and roosts in Cherry cream cola (I have an 11 year old daughter...this is what we settled on. She wanted lots of pinks, yellows and greens)

I will paint mine inside and out with a nice light yellow with white trim. Do yourself a favor and paint whatever you can BEFORE you put it all together . This way you dont have to worry about getting trim color on the coop or vice versa. And its faster too. Not sure if i will paint the nest box insides in a diff. color. I might have to check what the oops section holds.

I did paint the inside of the nest boxes a deep brown. The ceiling is unpainted with the walls white.

It makes sense to paint the nest boxes darker i think...
