Well, we didn’t actually breed them, so I’m not sure any of the other babies we hatched have the same parents. We only have one silkie roo, so I know he is the father, but we have 4 blue hens, 2 white hens, and one partridge hen. We randomly placed eggs under broodies to break their broodiness, so I have no idea which mama’s eggs were hatched! Some of the eggs may even be from 2 of our d’Anver hens or our d’Uccle. This baby has 5 toes, black skin and a small crest so I’m pretty sure it came from a silkie pairing. After doing a little reading on paint genetics this morning, I suspect the mama is our white silkie who has a little bit of pink in her skin. This is the only paint that hatched out of maybe a dozen eggs. I might have to pair our white mamas with the blue roo next year though to see if we can get more paints!
