If I paint my wooden coop with spray paint/ outdoor quality paint and my chicks peck at it will they get sick? Just wanna be safe!

They shouldn't peck at it. Maybe if it's old, flaking and peeling off, they'd pick up pieces, but a new coat of paint should be no issue.

Make sure you:
- prep the surface thoroughly and well.
- apply spray paint at the proper temperature so it adheres as it should and cures properly.

Once it's cured should be toxic or peel off.
