Painting a Dark Color for the winter

For the ceiling I went a bright Yellow, the walls a poop color to hide the poop.

Do the birds even care can they see color or is it for us? Dunno.

dark colors will attrack more heat - so it might not be a bad idea unless you live in a warm climate. if you need to use a fan or AC in the summer.... dont paint it dark unless you really will paint it again in the spring.

I painted mine dark red outside and off white inside - the light color makes a difference inside (brighter).

The only way this would make a meaningful difference is if your walls are super, super thin (like sheet metal with nothing inside)... which if they ARE that thin, you need to insulate them ANYhow in a climate cold enough for you to worry about winter temperatures... and if you're insulating, then painting the outside will do no good.

Thus, it is probably not worthwhile no matter how you slice it

(Also a bad idea to have a dark colored coop in a hot-summer climate unless it is mostly open air)

Good luck, have fun, if you're itchin' for things to paint I have some rooms and fences that you could get some exercise on
