Pair of ducks

Hi all, my wife has rescued two ducks before Christmas and we are wondering if they are make or female cheers

They look like females to me. Are they laying? I know it's winter so they won't be laying as often if they are at all but just thought I'd ask cuz that'd be a dead give away to gender.

I say female cuz they both seem to have flat tails. Drakes have a little curl feather on the top of the tail

Sorry I should of mentioned it's summer I'm in the south west of Australia so high 30s Celsius most days. They arnt laying yet they are only 3 months old

muscovy drakes don't have a curl.

they are young. if one is much bigger than the other you might have a pair. otherwise wait and see. muscovie males are huge. also males make a hissing noise while females make sort of squeaking noise. they are not loud like other female ducks. while still young both genders make squeaking noise.
