Pairing Up

Do your birds pair up naturaly like this? I took this picture a few days ago right after a good rain so the girls were happy to be out of the coop but didn't like the wet grass. Instead they thought the top of the picnic table was good. Seems like most of the time they prefer to be near their same kind. Bear in mind we have 1 pair of 6 breeds for a total of twelve hens.

Do you think they recognize their own breed?

Our chickens are just one big happy family. Sometimes they hang out with a special friend for a few days then we'll see them with a new bug-picking-buddy.
