Pale Comb and possibly swollen face?

Hey guys! I have a Barred Rock Hen who’s 6 ish months old. I noticed today her comb and ears and face in general is looking quite pale. I’m also not 100% positive but it seems like her face might be a bit swollen too. I’m not sure if there’s something wrong with her or maybe this is just the color for a barred rock? Any advice would be great! She’s acting pretty normal I would say. She just now laid down on the ground and is just sort of sitting there staring. I just want to make sure I treat her if there is something wrong health wise! Thanks in advance!!

To me, she just looks like she's a pullet not ready to start laying yet. A lot like mine. The 3rd photo looks normal. First 2 look "swollen" maybe because she's looking over her shoulder at you and squishing her face.

Just my opinion but I would say healthy and just not ready to lay yet. Once she's ready, her comb and waddles will get bigger and redder.

That makes sense! I’m not sure if she is laying yet, I haven’t seen her in the nesting boxes however the black star and Wyandotte that I got at the same age as the barred rock (Doris) are laying. Although, I’ve been getting light pink ish eggs for about a week now and I believe she’s the only breed that would possibly lay an egg that light? (This is my first time ever having chickens so Im still learning, bear with me!). Regardless, what you said does make sense! I get myself all worried whenever I notice something “off” about one of them and try to get to the bottom of it ASAP. I appreciate the help!!

I believe Wyandottes can also lay a light brown/ pinkish egg. Not sure but she doesn't look like she's ready. I'm no expert, though! Still a newby myself. I'm just comparing her to my 20week old BR pullets who are definitely not laying yet and BR pullets of my friends who started laying.

I get being worried. My chickens have certainly put me through some stuff with sickness and some death when they were younger . I keep a close eye on mine, as well! I think with time, us new chicken owners will be a lot better at spotting serious issues.

Now I’m curiousI’ll have to check out the coop camera and see if I can rewind and catch who’s laying that pink egg! Doris definitely looks less matured than the others so that all makes sense.

I hope it becomes easier with the health issues! Most of the time it’s false alarms and me being overly cautious. Someday we’ll learn what’s worth worrying about, but for now I’m a helicopter chicken mom for sure

She will be pale until she gets ready to lay. Then her comb will get more red.
If she's acting fine and the poop looks OK then I wouldn't worry about it.
