Hello all! I'm worried about my girls... out of 11 chickens, I only get 4-6 eggs per day. It's the Brady Bunch of chickens- they came from three different places to converge at my farm within a couple of months. How long does it take for everyone to acclimate and egg laying to begin? Also, some chickens had bright red combs, almost all are pale, dry looking and some even warty. I think it's fowl pox from what I've read. They're all eating and drinking ok as far as I can tell. We just dusted them with Sevin-5 tonight for mites/lice. I thought I saw them but the neighbor that helped didn't. Any thoughts to what could be causing the pale combs and dropped egg production?

Thanks in advance for any and all help!

welcome to BYC there are a # of reasons they may not be laying. age, molt, worms, there combs are pale when they are not laying. so the ones with the red combs will be the ones giving you the eggs. diet , stress, they can all play a role including pox. if you are able, a picture would be helpful. there are many on here that can pin point the problem. I am not one of them. LOL
