Pale(r) combs and faces, less laying - WHY?

Natural is a wide concept. Permethrin is derived from Chysanthemums and Ivermectin from a bacterium - Streptomyces avermitilis.

Personally, I'm a huge fan of stuff that works.

Anyone used fenbendzole (Safe Guard for goats) on chickens? How much to use how often, etc. I was thinking I'd squirt some in their mouths and be done with the whole mess. I'm not even sure they have worms!

I went to TSC to get albendazole and they didn't have any. So, the clerk led me to Wazine or panacur or Safe Guard. What's the best to use and how?

AAGGHHHHH - I'm so stinking confused!

I'm sorry, I'll change my words " altered " is a better description, anything can be considered natural, since man cannot create, they simply mess with things that are already there. The closer to their " normal " state, the better. Just my opinion. I only use chemicals when it's absolutely necessary.

Safe guard has a good review foe chickens, never used it though. I've used wazine with one bird that was INFESTED with worms, and cleared them up in less than a week. Only get's rid roundworms though.

Thanks, they are being treated with a natural wormer right now ( paste of Cayenne, ACV, and raw garlic ) I only treat with chemicals when absolutely necessary.
. Hi there S&P I have been dealing with the same symptoms. I really would like to stick to home remedies also. Could you please provide me with your recipe, 16 hens ready to start feeling better. Thanks Ronnee

They're all better so it worked! Haha, It's just one clove of garlic, two-three tablespoons of Cayenne, and equal amount of ACV. I mix that into a paste and mix it with my wet feed, I also sprinkle some more pepper right onto the feed. I know it works, because I once lifted a block, and underneath there was a surplus of round worms, I went and sprinkled it with cayenne, And they all died within five minutes. The garlic and ACV boost the bird's immune system, and help the cayenne kill the worms. Hope yours get better!

How much wet feed? 2-3 tablespoons of cayenne might make a couple gallons of my barbecue sauce and it would still be too hot for some people. And one clove of garlic doesn't sound like much compared to the cayenne.

We use only dry feed and they get whatever they can scratch up from their very large corral, but I might try this if it's practical.

Usually around a gallon of wet feed. And chickens can't taste heat, so it doesn't bother them. You can definitely add more garlic, it's just super expensive around here, so I use it sparingly. If it's more practical for you, you could put the cayenne over their dry feed, and the crushed garlic, and ACV in their water. I do FF, so it works for me just to ,ix everything up.

The round worms that live in your chicken are not the worms that would have been under the block. Entirely different beast.
Natural remedies will not cure worms or parasites.
If your birds touch the ground they will have internal and external parasites. Preserve their health with a good worming and lice treatment at the very least every six months.

Please don't trust natural remedies to handle parasites. Your birds will suffer and eventually die for it.
