Pallet Coop

Thanks everyone!! Our girls were supposed to arrive at the feed store tomorrow but delivery has been pushed back a week. So disappointing, can't wait til they get here. Well at least it may warm up a bit more before they get here.

Kudos to you for your innovation! Your coop looks awesome and will be just fine, your ladies will be very happy! You gotta love those pallets....very versatile!

Too bad your girls have been delayed, but on the bright side... it gives you more time to prepare!

Hi fellow Alaskan! I'm planning on using pallets for a coop as well but can't figr out how I'm luggin them up my trail. The pallets I get are really heavy! I have windows and doors ready to go!

The pallets worked great but they are a little heavy at times. We don't live in Alaska we are in Nakina Ontario. We get just as cold and a ton of snow though. We are hoping that our coop will be warm enough to keep the girls happy in below -40 temps. We were lucky too and we were able to get pallets for fuel drums which are 4 ft x 4 ft instead of the other pallets which aren't square. Good luck with your pallet coop design. Our changed a few times through the build!

Added some feeders and finished off the door. Now we just need the girls to arrive.

Nice! I insulated my coop with cardboard boxes and feedbags. Keeps the eggs from freezing right away. Dampens the rooster crow also, which I love.
