Hello new here from Palmbay Fla., new to chicken raising to, most of what I know I got from this sight, from building my tractor to what feeds and type of coop maintainence I should or could use.this sight is very helpful for first timers. just some questions about feed and a good watering system is needed. I'd like to know how to raise my chickens on a dime though its getting expensive for these guys or girls. and also what to use as good but healthy pest defense for flies and ants in coop .I've picked hay as the floor in run and decided on layering so less clean up daily. but the flies are bad Diatomaceous earth isn't working. I have a problem here in Florida with fire ants also, don't want to use any kind of unnatural pesticide. From here also i have learned how to raise meal worms i got a meal worm farm going how many do you feed to make sure they are getting enough of this food source. Lots of questions, need some answers. these are my 3 chickens
