6 days until my duck eggs hatch. I'm a new to hatching eggs this is my first time and I'm panicking I've been reading so many threads on this website about people's chicks and ducklings dying and I'm seriously worried its gonna happen to me! What happens if my ducking cant get out!!? What happens if the ducking is in the wrong position in the egg!!!? I'm panicking!!! :(

before I start - just to make you panic some more, most people fail on their first hatch so don't get discouraged if it happens to you.

don't try to help any eggs unless they are pipped and close to hatching- and have been open for 24 or more hours. the ducklings absorb the yolk after the first pip but before the complete hatch. its a controlled drying process that releases the duckling. only open your incubator to add water if needed during the hatch.

after they hatch use a good quality starter listed for ducks.

it might take a couple of tries but you will get it, don't get discouraged and keep trying. youll have a yard full of flock before you know it.
