Im new to silkies but have had plenty of experience with other chickens but today I moved my 5 week old silkies to the outdoor coop (no they are not in run yet) my silkies just like all my other chicks go into the outdoor brooder for awhile before going in big coop and run so today I took the silkies out it is hot today 88 degrees. I opened the coop window for some sunshine and breeze but the whole time they have been panting so I put a little fan on low for them gave them some space checked on them every hour and still huddled not eating or drinking and still panting. What else can I do? is it stress or heat? Im starting to see silkies are way different than raising regular chickens. any advice?
