paralized??

    so I need some advice here, about a week ago one of my chick that is about 2-3months old all of a sudden has a wing hanging, checked her nothing wrong at all but wing hangin no injuries that I could find, now yesterday I go out there and her leg is up and she cannot walk, still eats drinks but it seems like her left side just quit working she moves the wing and leg but its like it forgot its part of the body and doesnt do what she wants any suggestions??

    sounds like Mareks disease there is some good info here on it. But the age and symptoms fit.

    this is a hard one. you can treat the bird and support and it can walk again or it may die. It nust be able to feed and get water to live of course. If it pulls though it will be a carrier so you should have all new chicks vaccinated for mareks in the future.

    mareks is like shingles for humans it effects the nerves. thus causeing paralysis and other symptoms like droped wing.

    If you do a search you will find there is a treatment you can try with St. Johns wart.
