Green poo is not good. It's usually starvation. I've noticed that when mine have been like that, they do pick at shavings. I don't know why when good food is available. I would not worry about oyster shell at this point. If worried you can always give her tums.

Oyster shell is calcium, and Tums is too. Tums may be easier to digest. You had mentioned something about a calcium deficiency. Not that I think they have it.

oh okay thanks yeah i highly doubt it is a calcium deficiancy but you never know.

complete list of symptoms up to this point

1 sevre weakness or floppy paralysis of both legs but no where else
2 green droppings, some what runny mainly just mushy normal except for some fleshy looking things ocasionaly, big poops, about 6 times a day
3 eating and drinking a little less interested in new food not as interested in usual feed
4 can here her body working, crunchy noises, glub glub noises and so on
5 mushy crop, mushy body

otherwise she appears normal, still bawking and clucking, perky, doesnt appear very lathargic, pecking at ground, reacting normaly to everyday situations.

treatments so far

1 antibiotics in water
2 seperated from flock
3 vitamin E therapy

treatments being considered

1 worming and dusting
2 tums
3 more vitamin therapy
4 molasses flushes
5 vet

please any help will be greatly appreciated, ive been on here for forever discussing this and i feel like i have gotten nowhere.

i see improvements!!!! last night i noticed that she was starting to turn around! i noticed to day that she is eating alot more, her poop is now yellow or brown instead od bright green and she is even attempting to stand a little now! i dont know what caused this but either she is fighting it off or i am doing something right but whatever it is it is working and i am so thrilled! i know i will still have to keep a very close eye on her and the rest of the flock but for right now she is getting better! just wish i knew what caused it in the first place.....

Good news about your chickens! I just saw this thread today and want to send good wishes to everyone who's battling this - whether it ends up being Marek's or not. These stories are heartbreaking. Like some of you, I was told not to worry about vaccinating a backyard flock. Based on what I'm reading here, that's definitely bad advice. My pullets are exactly 9 weeks old today and I'm absolutely going to get them vaccinated.

O boy its been a long time, well my girl is still sick even after all this time she is improving alot so i guess thats good its just taking so much time for her to recover. I hold hope that she may fully recover although my dad thinks that she may have some permanent nerve damage but i guess we will just have to wait and see poor girl she has been seperated for so long thst the rest of the flick dont even see her as a part of it anymore wich breaks my heart. Well shes got a long road ahead of her i hope she makes a full recovery. The worst part is i still have no idea what caused all of this, very frustrating
