So a friend of mine has little chicks, hatched and raised by her chickens. She said they start walking "heavy" and then they sit, and become paralyzed. Then they die. That's all she told me, I figured I'd ask you all chicken experts. She lives in Greece

We need a lot more info to make a decent guess. How old are the chicks? A few quick thoughts are, a toxin, mold in the feed, or access to fluids leaking from a vehicle or farm chemicals (though that would probably affect the other birds too), coccidiosis, Marek's disease, vitamin deficiency. How they are housed, what they are fed, what droppings look like, any history of other illness in the flock, etc, would be helpful, along with knowing the ages.

She said that the chicks were about 3 to 4 months, and everyone eats a variety of veggies, fruit, and corn. They are free range with no history

Coccidiosis is a possiblility. Droppings would be runny, mucousy, or with some strains bloody.
Vitamin deficiency possible if they are not on a balanced feed. Vitamin deficiencies, particularly riboflavin and thiamine (B's) and E can cause some weird neruo-muscular symptoms. If they are only getting fruits, veggies, corn, that could be why. Marek's disease is also a possibility. If they lose another I would recommend they get it necropsied, I've no idea what kind of resources they have there, but that would tell them for sure what is going on.
