I have a friend with a 3 month old phoenix rooster who suddenly can't walk. He can flap his wings, move his toes, but has no grip, and cannot stand up at all. He eats and drinks and is alert, but just lays there not moving.

They've quarantined him from the flock, but aren't sure he's gonna come out of it.

Any thoughts?

Read threads on Marek's...he's at the perfect age.

Or, it could be a vitamin deficiency. Give him .25mls of poly vi sol daily and 200 ius of vitamin E twice daily. This can take up to two weeks to work. I hope he gets better.

If he doesn't get better or, gets worse...euthanize him and have a necropsy done to find out the exact cause.
