I AM SO EXCITED!!!!! My Ameracauna eggs are here. I can't wait to hatch these. I have 20 here and hoping to get a good hatch rate. Praying for 100%. tee-hee They are the most beautiful BLUE eggs I have ever seen.

OK...please help this newbie out. I also ordered some Maran eggs from someone else, but they did not come yet. Not sure what happened because I received tracking numbers for both orders on Monday stating they went out on Monday. Maybe they will get here tomorrow.

*sigh*

So should I wait the 8 hours for these to settle and put them in, then put the Marans in tomorrow (if they get here tomorrow) after their settle in time? Then they would be one day apart from hatching. Or Should I just wait until tomorrow and put them all in together?

I was told my Ameraucana eggs were collected Saturday and Sunday and sent out Monday morning. The Marans were collected Monday and sent out Monday late afternoon (probably why it's taking longer to get here).

I don't have advice for you since I always put mine in the day I get them. Do you have a separate hatcher? Where did your blue eggs come from and what color ameraucana is in them

As long as the Marans eggs show up tomorrow I'd wait. If you don't get them tomorrow it would depend on how old you think the first set is--if they were only a day or so old when they shipped waiting another day would be fine, but if they were several days/ a week old before they shipped I'd get them in the bator.

if you think you might have a problem IDing chicks when they hatch, I'd set one set now and wait 2 days for the 2nd set especially since they could be some of same colors in both batches.

No, I don't have a separate hatcher. I am planning on doing the whole process in the incubator, then straight to the brooder.

I bought my eggs off of someone I met on ebay. So far great customer service and an all around nice guy. The eggs were packaged perfectly and made their way here without any breakage. He also put cute signs stating "This Side Up" and "Fragile". My babies will be Blue and Black Ameracaunas.

Hmmmm....that's a good idea. Has anyone ever hatched to sets a day apart? How much of a hassle will it be?

I am in the same boat, my egg were shipped out monday and tuesday, i have not gotten any of them yet.

i am hoping they both will be here tomorrow for they can have the same hatch day. I am hatching blue and black orps. and the rest is an assortment. This is my first time trying the hatching thing. hope everything works out.

hi, I would wait a day, they say to let them "rest" a day anyways.

however, my last hatch (hatched Easter) I set 12 eggs on Sat. then set 10 more on Mon. All worked out good, 9 out of the 12 hatched and 5 out of the 10 hatched (but these 10 were refrigerated for 2 days and bought from a store) so yes 2 days apart will work. I upped the humidity day 18/16 and had hatching going on fri - mon. that was fun!! now I got 12 Silkie and 2 EE in the bator and my silly silkie decided she wants to try.
